The Guerrilla Artmarket will be on the weekend before Christmas
December 18th-19th at the Brighton Media Centre.
Stalls are £25 a day, £40 for the weekend
Table hire is £5 for the weekend

I-Saw

I-saw grew out of a previous incarnation of the partnership of Graffiti Writer and Artist Chum 101 and Fashion Designer Rachael Taylor as club night event organisers where they used experimental graffiti oriented concepts combined with multi media such as projections, animations, performance and sculptures. This led to creating fashion garments, firstly through customisation with an emphasis on embroidery and appliqué. Chum 101 discovered how to use the sewing machine as a drawing tool, which spilled over into the textile artworks. I-saw then channelled this into an original signature style, that showcased their unique combination of print and embroidery, their use of all over pattern and unusual garment shapes, adding up to the fully realized design concept of I-saw.

I-saw has been involved in art shows in Berlin, Barcelona, Beverly Hills LA, New York and Tokyo. Included in the books Custom Kicks by Maki, Street Art by Rik Blackshaw and Liz Farrelly. The hand engraved customised trainers are currently featured in the Fashion V Sport exhibition that showcased at the V&A, London and currently travelling around Europe.

Rosalie loves drawing many things but particularly likes to sit on her bed at night doodling whatever is lurking in her subconscious, creating decorative and surreal designs.
She enjoys working mainly in collage and ink and this is the first time she has written about herself in the third person.

Chris Ede is a freelance contemporary illustrator who has recently relocated to London in search of his design fortune.

Chris’ digitally manipulated fusion of hand-drawn and photographic elements equates to an exciting, multi-textured, conceptual and often humorous illustration style, perfect for the editorial, publishing and advertising markets.
He thrives on the pressure of tight deadlines while his flexible approach allows for creations from the sublime to the surreal.

Ede recently played an instrumental role in helping agency client Skaramoosh win their pitch to create the Olympics 2012 handover ceremony animation. Chris created all storyboards, mood-boards and illustrations for the pitch, created elements for the final animation and played a major role in the original concepts.

My artwork is designed specifically for print, I use the giclee method, which achieves great results for how I currently present my work: on paper and on lightweight aluminium. I am influenced by my true love of the 1950’s and 60’s: the hairdos, the colour schemes, the clothes, the grace & style of the fabulous screen goddesses along with the sauciness of the pin- up gals from this era. My work is affordable, appealing and easy to digest. I take simple ideas, mingle in plenty of intricate graphic details, decide on a juicy colour scheme, assign a cheeky title, then sprinkle it all with a generous pinch of razzle dazzle.

aka Mongsterr is an illustrator and screenprinter based in Brighton,whose work is inspired by a love of comic books and trashy horror movies. Jamie comes from a background of amateur filmmaking,was a founder member of 'Lovely Movies' and starred in such epics as 'Jamie Skinnyhips' (about a young,misunderstood cannibal) and 'She's a Mystery To Me' (where he played a lesbian sex slave in Paignton). As an active member of the Brighton Rock Artists Group,he has made limited edition screen printed posters for several bands including Queens of the Stone Age,Devo and the Blood Brothers.Jamie attended the 2007 workshop in San Francisco with Firehouse studios and other BRAG members,where he created a print for the 40^th anniversary of the Summer of Love,the making of which was featured on local NBC News.
Jamie has had several solo and group exhibitions.Jamie continues to be excited about the possibilities of screen printing

This print was made for a Twin Peaks exhibition at Black Cat Bones Cafe in Mexico.
One coloured screenprint on coloured paper,limited edition of 50,signed by the artist.

It's spitting...
Monday's solemn clouds of sobriety promise downpours that will wash away all trace of fun, drown idle daydreams and rinse the colour from the world, till next weekend at least...

But somewhere, weekday after weekday, still in pyjamas, the Petting Zoo staff will be adrift on rafts escaping the gloom and marveling at the weird and wonderful fauna that scampers and lollops over puddle and pool.

Exploring the space between societal roles (tinker, toymaker, layabout, loaf) the Zoo's limited edition collectibles aim to skirt realms both slick and goofy, to adorn nursery, boudoir, bachelor pad alike... and do so with a spot of dashing and a signature dash of stripe.

Katie Barton is a textile artist living and working in London. She creates individual wall hung and installation art works.

Her inspirations and themes are landscapes, skies and plants. Katie is passionate about colour relationships and qualities on fabrics, mixing processes and techniques such as dyeing, painting, appliqué and embroidery.

Currently focusing on scale and detail, Katie is experimenting with this to create very abstracted or patterned images.
